What Is A "Marble Suspended In Space"?
The image of a marble suspended in space represents the contrast between two very different places in the human experience. The marble symbolizes a place of light, hope, healing, and belonging, the place God created us to experience in relationship with Him and with one another. The darkness surrounding it represents the spaces of despair, pain, isolation, regret, and sorrow where we sometimes find ourselves because of hardship, loss, poor choices, or circumstances beyond our control.
Although the marble appears small against the vast darkness of space, its light remains visible. The darkness has not overcome it. It serves as a reminder that even in our most difficult seasons, hope has not disappeared and we have not been forgotten. There is still a way home.
Through Jesus Christ, we are invited out of darkness and into restoration. He meets us in the places where we have wandered, comforts us in our suffering, and calls us back to the light. The marble suspended in space is therefore more than an image. It is a picture of redemption and a reminder that healing, hope, purpose, and belonging remain possible, no matter how overwhelming the darkness may seem.
